Textron Specialized Vehicles, owners of the Arctic Cat and Tracker brands, has issued a recall for certain Arctic Cat Alterra 600 and Tracker 600 ATVs. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, a problem in the front suspension can cause the A-arms to separate from the frame, resulting in a loss of control and a crash.

Transport Canada has issued a recall notice for Polaris RZR 170 Youth Side-by-Sides.

According to the recall notice “the fuel pump retaining ring could crack due to a defect in the molding process. If the machine were to tip on its side, fuel could leak through these cracks, resulting in a fuel leak, which in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage.”

Arctic Cat Recalls 2008-09 ATVs Due to Front Gear Case Issue

Arctic Cat has recalled approximately 40,000 2008-09 ATVs due to an issue with the front gear case. According to the recall notice, components in the front gear case can fail, posing a risk of loss of control and crash hazard.

All model year 2008 Arctic Cat ATVs with 400 cubic centimeter (cc) and larger engines are being recalled. Model year 2009 Arctic Cat ATVs with 400 cubic centimeter (cc) and larger engines and with production numbers within the following ranges are being recalled: 200001 through 203861, 808001 through 808137, and X25082 through X30243. The recall affects single-rider and two-up ATVs.

American Honda Recalls Pioneer Due to Fire Hazard

American Honda and the Consumer Product Safety Commission followed Transport Canada’s lead and issued a recall notice for the Honda Pioneer due to a fire hazard.

According to the recall notice, vegetation and debris can accumulate on the middle skid plate and make contact with the vehicle’s exhaust system. Dried debris can ignite, resulting in smoke or fire.
