Polaris Ranger gets Body Armor

Bodyguard Armoring has developed the first UP ARMOR KIT for the Polaris Ranger ATV. It will protect 2-3 men from handguns, shotguns, 7.62×51 NATO, 5.56 NATO, and 7x62x39 AK rifle rounds (ball). This kit will fit Polaris Rangers 2008 and older and may be installed in about an hour. Armor kits will soon be available for the newly redesigned 2009 Ranger as well as the new Polaris Defense MVRS 800 Ultra Light Tactical Vehicle the Army is using at Ft. Campbell KY, and the Air Force at MacDill AFB, Florida.

Above is a photo of the prototype, which weighs about 500 pounds (the new Polaris Ranger  800 6×6 has a 2000 Lb carrying capacity, new ft. suspension and more horsepower). The kit for the 2009 and newer Rangers will look slightly different due to the new front end shape and redesigned roll bar. The roof will have cooling fans and a third door that will accept an optional solar battery charger. There will be gun ports in the front, rear, and in both doors. Options will include a Solar battery charger, armor bedside panels. 2” wheel spacers, and an armor belly pan to absorb explosion fragments.
